Addressee : Monsieur Pierre Martain (Pseudo)
Original language : FrenchNotes : 1 page + 1 page appendix distributed after the death of the addressee, at his request. It had been distributed briefly by Ignacio Darnaude, who then removed it from his site at the recipient's request.
Third of the three letters in E IXOO 7, written in French and received in France by a recipient who wishes to remain anonymous (as stipulated in the call for other documents) and to whom we have given the pseudonym "Pierre Martain". Respect for his anonymity has necessitated the deletion of a few words which have no bearing on the information contained in this document. Only AJH knows his true identity and can vouch for his morality (there is no question of "Pierre Martain" having written these letters himself).
This NR15 letter comprises two pages, the second of which is an appendix. At the express request (appearing on the appendix) of the letter's signatory (E IXOO 7), this appendix remained confidential until 16/03/2018. It could be circulated following overall authorization from the ummites and the recipient.
Two testimonies of "orange-colored" UFO sightings were found on the net, see notes in this document.
I am E IXOO 7 from the planet UMMO. I take the liberty of writing to you again. This will be my last letter.
I'd like to correct a sentence in my last newsfeed to you. My sister from Brussels has made me aware of a mistake I made when I misused the words "we confess, however, to reacting with a certain aversion when we refer to your race on UMMO". I apologize for this unfortunate sentence, which could lead one to believe that we dislike OYAGAA individuals and feel some kind of physiological repulsion towards them. I beg you to believe that this is not the case. The sentence referred to your social network as a whole, not to your OEMMII nature. It did not also include your artistic culture, particularly musical and architectural, [...]. An entire building is dedicated to your planet's culture in our OUDIOWEE colony, where I live. I must confess that I stroll through the museums of your capital, such as the Louvre, the Museum of Natural History or the museums dedicated to the sculptors Antoine Bourdelle and Auguste Rodin, which were the object of my most recent visits.
***********
Three of our ships arrived on Earth on May 9 and 10, 2003, at three different points on your planet. Contact with the ground took place near the following locations
- Humbolt, Iowa, USA;
- Glenbrook, New South Wales, Australia;
- Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico.
Nine of our brothers have joined the small group of expeditionaries currently on this planet. Their main mission will be the study of geological phenomena, forecasting earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. This was also my primary mission on OYAGAA, and I was chosen by UMMO's scientific council for my work in INNOYAGOOU (stratigraphic geology) and my theoretical contributions aimed at improving the predictive model of eruptions from our OUDIO OEY volcano, which regularly ejects columns of incandescent gas at heights sometimes exceeding 2,000 metres.
We constantly monitor the craters of Etna and Panarea in Italy, Colima and Popocatepetl in Mexico, Bezimianny and Chikurachki in Kamchatka, Guagua Pichincha and Tungurahua in Ecuador, Kilauea in Hawaii, Nyamuragira in Congo, Pago in New Guinea and Piton de la Fournaise on Reunion Island. We are attempting to regulate the eruptive phases of these volcanoes and to set up mechanisms to contain crustal deformation at the level of geological faults. Since 1972, a tectonic compensation system has been progressively and successfully implemented along the Pacific San Andreas Fault to reduce the effects of seismic activity in this region. We also averted an imminent explosion of Mount Etna in 1967 by creating an artificial cavity in the rock to evacuate the excess pressure. When this cavity collapsed, it created a new mouth for the volcano. Your brothers Tazieff and Tonani were warned of this phenomenon by letter in April 1967. I myself explored Etna, Panarea and Stromboli in November and December 2002 to install underground measuring instruments. We are keeping a closer watch on Popocatepetl, whose worrying activity is threatening the populations of the large conurbations of Puebla and Mexico D.F. We are not the only ones doing this.
[...] I'll be leaving for UMMO very soon. A nave will leave between June 10 and 12 from Belgium or the Netherlands. Believe me, I'll have fond memories of the 11 XEE I spent on your planet. There's no doubt that we Earthlings have an exceptionally diverse natural environment. If you knew how to domesticate this nature without perverting it, OYAGAA would objectively be one of the most beautiful cold stars known to us. May you, [...], help to inject this ideal into the collective consciousness of your fellow human beings.
I'm happy to have been able to communicate with you. I apologize if I have made any mistakes through lack of rigor or unfamiliarity with your language. Please accept the expression of my sincere respect.
For UMMOAELEWE: E IXOO 7 sons of OURIEE 29, submitted to AYIOA 1 son of ADAA 67
APPENDIX: INFORMATION ON OUR ANATOMY
The average heights of UMMO women and men are 195.0 and 208.2 cm respectively. The standard deviation around these mean values is 4.5 cm for women and 4.8 cm for men. Expeditionaries seconded to OYAGAA are normally selected from men shorter than one ENMOO (around 187.4 cm) and women shorter than 179.4 cm. Given the small number of OEMMII who possess both a functional phonic organ and an appropriate size, however, it is difficult to satisfy these criteria. For example, AYIOA I, son of ADAA 67, on which I depend, exceeds two meters, for other reasons having prevailed for his participation in this expedition. It's difficult for him to mix with people in southern Europe, but less of a problem in the north, where his build is not exceptional.
We are slightly heavier than you are, with an average body mass index of between 25 and 30. This is due to our substantial subcutaneous fat layer. Our dermis is also criss-crossed by richly innervated ducts capable of becoming turgid according to temperature conditions, filling up with an oily substance called IGGIYAEMOY. This mechanism enables us to protect ourselves from the extreme temperatures that can prevail at certain times on UMMO. It acts reflexively, like the shivering or chicken-flesh effect at home, by compressing blood vessels to limit subcutaneous flow and thus prevent the dissipation of body heat. When the temperature rises, this oily substance refluxes into sub-epidermal pockets around the abdomen and hips. In these pockets, our epidermis takes on a telltale yellow-orange hue that's unique to our UMMO breed. Like you, we sweat salt water mixed with impurities, but our pores also constantly exude tiny drops of IGGIYAEMOY. This mechanism has a triple function. It acts as a lubricant for the epidermis, a thermal regulator and a pheromone emitter. This oil gives off a subtle scent, specific to each individual. We may or may not find an individual's scent pleasant, as the sensation is different for everyone. Depending on the case, it can provoke irritability or sexual arousal above a certain concentration. The emission of IGGIYAEMOY is most intense during our YIEE's ovulation period, after intense physical effort, under the effect of pain or fear, or when the external temperature exceeds 16°C.
A daily steam bath is necessary to disperse the excess IGGIYAEMOY we exude every day in the thermal comfort of our homes. This is necessary to avoid provoking aggressive or sensual reactions in the community due to excessive epidermal pheromonal concentration. We can abstain from this bath for a maximum of 1200 OUW (about 60 hours on earth), as a minimum pheromonal concentration is necessary to achieve correct arousal when we wish to practice the sexual act between spouses. We maintain the reflex protective mechanism that causes IGGIYAEMOY to flow into our dermal ducts, necessary for our survival in conditions of intense cold, by opening the transparent roof of our bedroom to the outside every other night.
Without protective clothing or muscular activity, we can withstand temperatures as low as 2°C, provided we're sheltered from the wind and rain. The temperature inside our homes is generally regulated between 8°C and 14°C. We can tolerate heat up to around 28°C, but can only effectively evacuate excess internal temperature for limited periods, and only if we leave a large part of our epidermis exposed to the open air - something we can't do on your planet. Our skin then takes on a slightly tanned appearance, as if we were covered in suntan oil. This excess exudation inevitably results in excessive pheromone release, which excites your animals, especially dogs and flying insects. We reduce our activity on OYAGAA during the summer months, when we give priority to contact operations or scientific analysis inside suitably air-conditioned premises.
You're probably wondering why I'm revealing to you, free of charge, information about our anatomy that could easily identify us. Well, I've been instructed to do so by my superior and our UMMO council. In the first place, this information is already available to the secret services of your governments, which are holding two of our compatriots who died on this planet and refuse to return their bodies to us despite our official entreaties. Secondly, this information is only
detrimental to us if the revealing parts of our anatomy are exposed, which can only be by voluntary action on our part. We have the means to camouflage these anatomical peculiarities by using appropriate make-up. We reserve the right to identify ourselves to your brothers, revealing these anatomical details if necessary to prove our origin. We have other revealing epidermal markings, but in any case we would only reveal them under duress.
I urge you, as with the other letters, to keep this information confidential or within a restricted group of your brothers limited to 4 trusted people - in addition to yourselves - who must undertake not to reveal it outside this group. It is extremely important that it should not be made public.
